4th of July might fall on a Monday this year, but that doesn’t mean 4th of July weekend isn’t going to be amazing. Independence Day is just around the corner and from Friday to Monday evening, enjoy food, live music, and fireworks all weekend long.
1. Larimer Square
Denver’s iconic Larimer Square is hosting events for 2 spectacular days on July 2nd and 3rd. On Saturday, enjoy face painting and live music sessions from DJ Thred Savage and on Sunday, marvel at chalk art created by artist Tadd Moskal, enjoy the Larimer Scavenger Hunt where you can go win $100 gift cards to places like Bistro Vendome and Bao Brewhouse (look for clues on the Larimer Square instagram) and live music with Alex Bocker Band.
Saturday: From 4-8pm
Sunday: From 11am-5pm
2. Cranmer Park Fireworks Show
A longstanding tradition in Denver, head to Cranmer Park for a live show by Denver Municipal Band on July 1st for the kickstart of 4th of July weekend, complete with a dazzling fireworks show.
3. Independence Eve
On the eve of 4th of July, Civic Center Park will be hosting their special fireworks performance after 2 years. Enjoy sounds by the Colorado Symphony, a spectacular light show on the City and Country Building, and a fireworks finale. There will also be food trucks lined up ready to slang great food all night long. The event starts at 4pm, music starts at 6pm, and the fireworks work between 9:15 and 9:30pm.
4. Stars and Stripes Forever: Concert and Fireworks
For something a little more rural, head to Littleton. There, at the Breckenridge Brewery Farmhouse and Garden, listen to music by Arapahoe Philharmonic and enjoy food and drinks from Breckenridge Brewery. The evening will close off with a beautiful fireworks show.
5. Catch a Coors Game
Mix sports with amazing fireworks shows at Coors Field during 4th of July weekend. On July 1st and 2nd enjoy two games that end with firework displays against the Arizona D-bags. Check out their website for firework and obstructed seating.
6. Head to a rooftop for unobstructed views of fireworks
If you can’t make it to any of the 4th of July events, don’t fret. You can still catch a glimpse of the fireworks display from one of Denver’s stunning rooftops. Check out the Woods Rooftop, Avanti’s, or the Viewhouse.
A fun idea for those who are more athletically inclined, don your favorite hero costume (from real world examples to super heroes) and participate in a run for freedom. Afterwards, mingle, eat, drink, and if you like, bring 5 non perishable food items to donate and be entered into a raffle for prizes. $40 for the 5k and $50 for the 10k.
