Arvada’s Winterfest is returning again this 2022. After its inaugural start in 2018, Winterfest has been a way for the city to collaborate with local community-based non profits and give back to the community. The festival is always multi-generational, diverse, and family-friendly. This year, there are a ton of performances taking place that celebrate Colorado’s unique and multi-cultural community as well as wintery fun to participate in.
The schedule is jam-packed with performances from the start to the end, so make sure to get their on time if you want to soak up all the fun at Winterfest. The festival will kick off with the Pet Parade and Ugly Sweater Party at 11am where pooches will get judged on their sweaters and the winner will get a gift basket from Paws ‘n’ Play. At 12pm, Mariachi Sangre Mexicana will perform. At 1pm, don’t miss the Dragon & Lion Dane that will be performed by the Colorado Asian Cultural Heritage Center to celebrate Chinese New Year. 2pm you can watch Irish Stepdancing put on by Wick School of Irish Dance, and finally at 3pm, there will be live polka dancing.
Aside from the entertainment, you can catch free carriage rides through Olde Town, some food vendors and a beer garden, plus live ice sculpting.
The festival takes place this Saturday at McLlvoy Park at 11am-3pm.
