Colorado’s favorite ski town has stolen the number one spot.
Great news, Colorado! This year, Aspen has stolen the spot for best small city away from Charleston, North Carolina in their annual Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards, 2021 edition. While Denver may have gotten looked over this year, we can’t really blame Condé Nast for awarding Aspen best small city, as its touted for its ability to be the ultimate year-round destination.
The Readers’ Choice Awards is an annual survey that lets readers vote for their picks in a variety of different categories: best big city, (Chicago), best small city (Aspen!), best hotel, best country, and so on. The 34th survey had over 80,000 readers vote and out of every city around the globe, Aspen still managed to come out on top!
Here’s what they had to say about Aspen:
This year’s survey was especially telling, as it served as a big list of “the places inspiring your return to travel,” as Condé Nast said in their intro. 2021 was a year that was projected to be more normal than the last, and there was a lot more vacationing than 2020, for obvious reasons. It’s not wonder that Aspen, being a sporty city, won that coveted first place spot. We imagine this will definitely serve as some inspiration to make Aspen your next quick-stop getaway.
