The mural will come with an accompanying app.
Rumored to be the largest mural in the country, this brand new 13-story augmented reality mural is currently being worked on by artist, Pat Milbery. The new mural can be seen from the 1-25 and will be behind the Coors Field and will eventually spread across the newest apartment complex, X Denver.
Milbery’s most popular mural is his “Love This City” mural that added a bright splash of color to the city, plus the iconic Denver mural with the pink and black geometric heart.
If you’re not sure what an AR mural is, it’s simply a mural that appears normal to the naked eye, but that takes on a moving or interactive component when you use a cellphone. Being as tall as it is, this new mural would be the largest AR mural in the nation, and we’re so excited to have such a unique addition to the Denver art scene.
Milbery began painting the mural in mid-June and it could potentially be opening in the next several weeks. The accompanying app is also still in the works as well, but is supposed to be adopted alongside viewing of the mural. Keep your eyes peeled, because you likely won’t miss this massive mural in all its bright and colorful glory when it’s completely unveiled.
