If you’re looking for quality, these are the cafes for you.
We’re really into coffee here at Secret Denver and we wanted to share some of our favorites that have made the coffee scene here in Denver bloom. From locally sourced to bright and lovely cafes, to places that offer coffee subscriptions, here are 9 amazing and quality coffee shops here in Denver that you’ll want to spend an afternoon in, rain or shine.
1. Corvus Coffee
Corvus has a stunning reputation as a coffeeshop power house here in Denver, and it’s easy to see why. Their beans are sustainably sourced with a direct transaction between farmers to roasters, creating a better and more direct supply chain. Their coffee always hovers between quality and interesting, and if you’re a coffee lover who likes pour overs, quality espresso, and less sugar content, you’ll likely want to give Corvus a try. That’s not to say they aren’t friendly to the palette that enjoys a sweet cup of coffee to start their day. Corvus has a little something for everyone, which is why it remains a standout.

2. Huckleberry Roasters

Where Corvus’ aesthetic was more “dark academia,” Huckleberry Roasters is more “planttok.” Take a seat on their wooden bench as the natural lighting pours in, pull out your laptop, and get busy with a hot cup of quality coffee to fuel you. They’ve got two locations: one in the artsy district, Dairy Block, and the original brick & mortar in Sunnyside.
Where: 4301 N Pecos St, Denver, CO 80211
3. Queensberry Rule Coffee House
Queensberry, formerly Black Eye Coffee, is located in the iconic North Denver neighborhood. The building has undergone quite a few transformations as time’s passed. It was once a combination live theater and bar where the Coors family sold their products, and later during the Prohibition Era, it became notorious for gambling, gangsters, and other illegal activities. The name Black Eye gave homage to that when the coffee shop was opened in 2012, and now the shop has elevated their branding to call back to the art of boxing. Stop in for a frothy cappuccino and a fresh-baked croissant and gab with a friend. Queensberry wants you to stay a while.

4. Crema
Another quality coffee spot with two stunning locations: OG Crema on Larimer and the Bodega, also in Larimer, but inside the Denver Central Market. Pictured above is their matcha latte, only available at the bodega. The “OG” has got fresh coffee, fresh food, and cool casual vibes for you to enjoy, while the Bodega is more of a quick stop where you can pick up a coffee and snack to-go while enjoying the hustle and bustle of the market. Both are awesome.
Where: 3600 Tejon St #101, Denver, CO 80211
5. Steam Espresso Bar
Yes, another coffee shop with two locations, but we find that to be incredibly exciting and a tell of how much the Denver coffee scene is expanding. They’ve renovated an old historic firehouse to a beautiful, bright, and welcoming second home. Check out the original Platt Park location or say hi to their new spot on Tejon St.

6. Pablo’s Coffee
Coffee and community are Pablo’s mottos and because of this, they’ve managed to grow alongside the changing coffee landscape since 1995. Their priority when sourcing is to find the most reputable, sustainable, and fair trade beans they can, and they do so with transparency. You can be assured that what’s going in your cup is grade A quality every time, and we’re grateful for coffee shops doing their best to keep the industry fair. What’s also awesome about Pablo’s is their coffee subscription box they’ve got, where you can choose different roasts to be delivered to your door. Check out their website for more info.

7. Sweet Bloom Coffee Roasters
Sweet Bloom, named for the beautiful way ground coffee expands when introduced to hot water in a pour over, is a quality coffee shop that’s determined to do coffee with highly trained and modern techniques. They’re even extending that to their community by offering public classes (during non COVID times). If you’re curious, on your next visit, we’d recommend trying a new style of brewing you’ve never tried before, like a pour over. Or, if you don’t want to leave home, Bloom has also got an awesome coffee subscription you could try out too.

8. Quince Coffee House
Quince has got an eclectic aesthetic going on, from its bright colors to the fact that it’s a house. A coffee house to be precise. The perfect neighborhood spot, Quince has got that homey feel that will make you want to stop and stay a while. Order a home-roasted hot latte and pair it with a fresh-baked pastry sold from some of Denver’s local bakeries. You could even get a vegan or gluten free option here.
Where: 1447 Quince St, Denver, CO 80220
9. Thump
Thump Coffee has got a great relationship with producers and farmers alike, which has led them to have an amazing reputation for their high quality brew. Thump Coffee started in Bend, Oregon with three coffee shops there, before expanding into Denver, which we couldn’t have been more happy about. Stop in to their beautiful cafe and enjoy.
