Lavender season is a favorite for those who like their drinks, food, and house decor flavored or scented with the popular herb. This year, Denver Botanic Garden’s is bringing back their Lavender Festival, taking place a little outside the city at Chatfield Farms, in the month of July when the lavender will be at its peak bloom.
This year’s festival has many ways to celebrate. Expect live music, lavender demonstrations in their dye garden and working blacksmith shop, multiple types of vendors, and even farm tours. A variety of products made by local artisans and makers will be available for purchase, so you can go home smelling just as good as the lavender films will likely smell.
There are a few guidelines to follow if you’re interested in some of the extra amenities like classes or guides. Admission tickets are not necessary if you purchase a ticket for a class, but if you register for a free tour at the Lavender Festival, you still need to buy a ticket to the festival.
Tickets for the festival start at $11 for adults who are members and $13 for non-member adults. Kids range from $7 to $9 depending on if you’re a member or not as well. If you’re interested in signing up to become a member, check out their website. Remember that tickets must be purchased in advance of the event.
The festival is happening on two days: July 16th and 17th from 9am to 4pm. Don’t forget there’s free parking, with the lot opening at 8:30.
