This year, members of the food and beverage industry here in Colorado have come together to launch Mile High Asian Food Week happening February 22nd through 26th. Several locations will be participating across the Denver Metro Area and will include more than 10 vendors. The goal of this restaurant week is to celebrate the growing AAPI community and talent in the hospitality industry in Denver as well as give you a chance to try some different cuisines you might not have had at a smaller price point.
“In many Asian cultures, food is our love language. It symbolizes family, and it is our way of expressing care and protection,” says Joanne Liu, owner of Asian Girls Ignite, a non profit that focuses on building stronger connections in the AAPI community for young girls. “We have so many AAPI food and beverage chefs and business owners here in Colorado. Mile High Asian Food Week is our chance to recognize and celebrate this growing culture.”
Although members of the AAPI community only make up about 4% of the population in Denver, there’s a vibrant community here, with many amazing restaurants, bars, and coffee shops to try. If you’re interested in participating as a vendor, head to their website. For now, here’s a list of the few participating vendors that have been announced.
- Meta Asian Kitchen
- Pho King Rapidos
- Tea Street
- Yuan Wonton
More will be announced as the dates come closer, and we’ll keep you updated along the way.
