Giddy up!
The National Western Stock Show, a longtime tradition and tourist event has returned to Denver after 2 years! From some of the country’s best rodeo shows to a huge horse show and plenty more, here’s what to expect over the next several days of pure Western fun. Cowboys and cowgirls, line up, because we’re as excited as you to see the return of this American tradition right here in Denver.
The aim of the National Western has always been to strengthen American values towards agriculture through enrichment programs and youth education in areas such as livestock, equestrian, farming, and animal awareness and appreciation. They also aim to preserve western tradition and culture from which Colorado has its roots.
Not to mention, the event pays homage to the important ways that agriculture and ranching play into our lives on a daily basis, and gives us a little glimpse of that world. The Stock Show has been around since its premiere year in 1906 and was derailed for 2 years due to pandemic. 2023 is the year of its triumphant return with plenty of shows for you to enjoy.
Tickets range in prices depending on what shows and events you want to attend, and the show runs until January 22nd. A Grounds Admission ticket offers plenty of things to do like horse shoes, access to Coors Western Art Gallery and tons of western-themed vendors, and costs between $17-25 for anyone over 12. Ranch shows and other special shows will take place on different days and range in price.
