There’s change coming to Denver’s hometown sports arena! After 21 years of being known as Pepsi Center, the home of the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoth will now be called Ball Arena following the announcement of a multi-year global partnership between Ball Corporation and Kroenke Sports and Entertainment. This partnership gives local naming rights of Denver’s multi-purpose arena to Ball Corporation, a leader in aluminum beverage packaging with corporate offices in Colorado. According to their news release, the deal will allow them “to advance sustainability in sports and entertainment by strengthening in-venue aluminum recycling,” and one of their aims is to transition the arena to aluminum cans, bottles, and cups for 100% of the venue’s concessions by 2022.
New name, same game.
