Prost Brewing is Colorado’s answer to the biergarten that’s so popular in Germany, and in a city filled with American style brew, you can get your fill of lagers, weissbiers, and pilsners here. They have locations in Denver and Fort Collins, and more recently, they’ve opened a sprawling Highlands Ranch location complete with a walk-up window, a beer bar, and an outdoor biergarten with a fire pit to keep warm and cozy over fall and winter.
The’ve got a wide selection of German beers to try, like their Helles, a Munich-style lager, their Radler, a German beer with grapefruit, or their Märzen, a Oktoberfest-style beer served year round.
For food, you and your friends should definitely go for their Biergarten Board, which is perfect to share. For $24.95, you get our choice of 3 specialty meats, 3 Belgian cheeses, and sides like Pretzel bites with cheese fondue, house pickles, and slaw. For something a little smaller but easily as shareable, try some spazel mac and cheese, potato cakes, wings, or crispy fries.
The great thing about the Highlands location is that they’re also selling seltzers and cocktails if you’re not in a beer drinking mood. Perfect for the seltzer craze that hit this year, you could get your choice of cucumber lime, strawberry rose, ginger peach, or lemon elderberry. Or, go for their Naughty German, with Tequila, grapefruit, lime, barenjager, and cinnamon.
