The Beacon is the latest to be added to Denver’s vibrant and quirky bar scene. This isn’t just your normal bar experience though–its a place for artists and creative people to gather and connect on a human level. The bar, that just recently opened, has an eclectic mix of inspirations behind it–from the tropical beachy-bars of Tulum to the tech-forward bars of Tokyo combined with art installations that remind you of stepping into Burning Man or other festivals. The art installations were created by some of Denver’s local artists, some who have even worked on the conic Meow Wolf.
There are a few unique spaces inside the bar, each with their own vibe and mood. The Celestial Stardust Wagon, pictured above, that combines technicolored-furniture with celestial inscriptions and more details that you’re best seeing in person. Their ‘Trip to the Hive Mind’ area has a honeycomb light-design on both walls, leading to a triangular seating space. The room is lit up in vibrant yellow during the day and deep orange in the evening, and inspires its visitors to connect as a collective mind.
The Willow Weave Bar is inspired by Tulum, Mexico, and offers a cocktail experience under a tree. The materials for the art installation were sourced locally and hand-placed and a local artist weaved flowers into the branches to create a beautiful way to enjoy a cocktail bar. Finally, you can also dance the night away at their ‘dance floor under the clouds,’ a space that’s not like any other dance floor. The entire ceiling has a kinetic art installation covering it, and lights and sound move together in harmony. The sound set up is designed to be encapsulating but not overpowering, so you can still mingle.
As far as the menu goes, enjoy a couple pages of wine, beer, classic cocktails and even higher quality craft cocktails like negronis. They’ve also got a few different types of tequilas and mezcals behind the bar and their own house made salts.
Their next event is their Masquerade Ball with many more events slated to happen, so keep an eye on their calendar. For now, their hours are Wednesday through Saturday 4pm-close and Sunday 11:30-8:30pm.
